C & The Moon Spa Day

This week we celebrated the launch of our Glow Oil at OneSun Farm in Malibu, indulging in a spa day with some of our favorite self-care rituals and treatments.

We are so grateful for these healing healing hands and hearts of our local practitioners! We hope you feel inspired to indulge in some well-deserved pampering, too.

Linea Method - Lymphatic Facial

Julie Civiello Polier provides energy healing with her LINEA Method skincare rituals and facial massages. This technique utilizes a reiki-infused clear crystal quartz massage tool (and necklace!) to promote vitality and longevity. LINEA taps into the connection between body and breath to cultivate a healthy glow and create harmony in your whole being. It is a great way to dissolve stress, activate your radiance and access your personal youth tonic.

Ear Seeding & Cupping by Sprit Gate

Ear Seeding acupressure is a form of acupuncture used to stimulate the flow of Qi energy in the body. It can help relieve chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, stress, migraines; and help with infertility, addiction and weight loss.

Cupping also increases circulation of healthy Qi, blood and oxygen to help eliminate tension, stagnation and pain. Different sized glass "cups" are used to create a vacuum seal around the skin and pull it up and away from the muscle layer. When space is created between the skin and muscles, it enhances circulation and draws toxins to the surface of the skin where the immune system is better able to eliminate them.

Lymphatic Abdominal Massage by Lisa Levitt Gainsley

Lisa, CLT taught us that massaging our bellies is not only incredibly soothing, but also highly important for our health. So many of our vital organs are located in our abdomen, and have a motility called peristalsis - meaning, they need optimal movement in order to function properly. Just like our shoulders and necks, abdominal organs like the colon can get tight, stressed and constricted. In addition, there are many lymphatic vessels lining the small intestine that make up 70% of our immune system. Massaging the abdomen can therefore improve digestion, release tension, quell inflammation and even improve mood, as gut and brain health are inextricably connected.

Learn how to do lymphatic abdominal self-massages with The Malibu Made Glow Oil in Lisa Levitt Gainsley's book, The Book of Lymph, or by taking her incredible online Masterclass, found here.

The Malibu Made Body Scrub & Glow Oil Massage

We enjoyed magical massages from esthetician Barbara Warner using our vanilla scented Body Scrub and Glow Oil. While the brown sugar scrub gently exfoliates the skin, ingredients like jojoba, rosehip and olive oils in the glow oil nourish and moisturize for moonlit skin and hair.

Sauna & Ice Bathing

Cold water immersion can be beneficial for easing the pain of sore muscles, boosting your central nervous system, improving sleep, enhancing physical reaction time (this is particularly helpful for athletes), limiting inflammatory response, decreasing negative effects of heat and humidity on the body, and training your vagus nerve - which helps you deal with stress, as it is in charge of mood, immune response, digestion, and heart rate.

Heat and steam bathing in a sauna, on the other hand, also promotes wellness as it can reduce risks of vascular diseases. It also helps treat rheumatic diseases, headaches and some skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis because it moisturizes, enhances collagen production and cleanses your pores of toxins. The physiological benefits also parallel those of physical activities like walking. Sweating it out is important, especially after a lymphatic massage, to help the body detox.

Local Bites

Our favorite snacks of the day were ROE CaviarOneSun Granola, Saffron Lattes from our friends at The Fullest, and raw kefir from Raw Farm USA.

Packed with healthy nutrients like Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin B-12 and selenium, caviar is surprisingly good for your skin, hair, heart, brain and immune system.

Raw dairy is also a powerhouse when it comes to nutrition. We love it because it is produced using sustainable farming practices like year-round grass grazing for the cows, organic treatments used as necessary (like essential oils and garlic tinctures), solar power and water recycling. Raw dairy products are also not processed or pasteurized, because pasteurization has been found to destroy some of the delicate milk components that make it digestible. What you're getting is naturally whole, living, nutrient-dense dairy with beneficial bacteria and rich flavor.
